Our summer activities for families are also available on Ruka-Kuusamo weekly programme.<\/p>\n<p>Our guided canoeing trips will take you to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalparks.fi\/oulankanp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oulanka National Park<\/a>. The departure for our guided canoeing safaris is located in Mataraniemi, below Kiutak\u00f6ng\u00e4s rapid. <a href=\"https:\/\/kuusamosafaris.fi\/en\/canoe-or-kayak-rental-in-oulanka-national-park\/\">We also rent canoes and kayaks.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our energetic mountain bike trips depart from our Ruka Safari House, address: Kotatie 1. You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/kuusamosafaris.fi\/en\/electric-mountain-bike-rental\/\">rent an electric mountain bike<\/a> and go on a self-guided trip.<\/p>\n<p>Our river rafting trips for families take off from K\u00e4yl\u00e4nkoski rapid, and the wilder rapid shooting trips from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retkietappi.fi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Retkietappi<\/a> at Juuma.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Ruka &#8211; Kuusamo<\/h3>\n<p>Kuusamo is located in north-eastern Finland in the immediate vicinity of the Russian border on a high plateau from where water flows to five directions. The water in the Kuusamo rivers is particularly clear and clean. Our canoeing trips take place on River Oulankajoki, and river rafting on River Kitkajoki. The upper part of the mighty River Oulankajoki flows in places in steep canyons, whereas in the lower part the meandering river has grooved high open sand banks, mellas, where the vegetation is scarce due to the on-going erosion. River Kitkajoki flows to the east, and its rapids are famous in Finland.
